Meet Margot. A charming vintage and lifestyle shop located in the adorable stone cottage tucked behind Elk Rapids Antiques, Elk Rapids, Michigan.
…just before departing for Italy in September 2017, we purchased 107 Mason Street, in the middle of downtown Charlevoix.
In Italy we stayed at an inspirational farmhouse in Puglia, Masseria Moroseta, the home of Carlo and Beppa. Set on five hectares of organic olives groves with views of Ostuni and the Adriatic Sea, Masseria Moroseta offered a wonderful respite that tapped all the senses – the perfect place to foster creativity. Our evenings started with our dear friends, conversation and pre-dinner Negroni’s, the iconic Italian cocktail. It’s the perfect drink – satisfying, fun, complex yet simple. In changing out the gin for vodka, we also changed the name of the quintessential Negroni and affectionally called it “Margot”. After a few evenings and, well, a few too many cocktails, Margot was born.
Margot opened Summer 2018 in Charlevoix, Michigan, as a unique property, traditional yet with a twist – as in the cocktail. The property offered three unique accommodations and a vintage home good shop.
After the 2021 summer season the property was sold. The accommodations will continue to be offered to the public and can be reserved via airbnb. While the accommodations have new owners Margot the Shop will continue in its new location. Margot the Shop is tucked just behind Elk Rapids Antiques located at 914 US 31 Elk Rapids, Michigan. You will find Margot in the little stone cottage just behind Elk Rapids Antiques.
